BURN RESTRICTIONS

FIRE DANGER UPDATE
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 15, 2025 THE COUNTYWIDE FIRE DANGER RATING IS LOW
- RECREATIONAL CAMPFIRES ALLOWED
- LAND CLEARING AND DEBRIS BURNING ALLOWED BY PERMIT ONLY
- BURNING PERMITS WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL NOVEMBER 1, 2025
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
District Resolution 2025-002 - in accordance with Chapter 52.12 RCW, no person, firm, or corporation shall start, permit, or cause to be started or permitted, land clearing outdoor fires on any land within the legal boundaries of the District, without first securing a written burning permit issued by the District.
District Resolution 2025-002 - in accordance with Section 52.12.108 RCW, if a person, firm, or corporation starts any fire without first securing the appropriate permit or if a permit holder fails to comply with any provision of law pertaining to burning permits, or of any term or condition of the permit, and as a result of that failure the District is required to suppress a fire, the person, firm, or corporation, or permit holder shall be liable to the District to reimburse it for the costs of the fire suppression services
District Resolution 2025-003 - costs to the Distict of the fire suppression services required to suppress a fire as a result of a person starting a fire without a permit, or a permit holder failing to comply with a fire permit, shall be recovered from a person starting a fire without a permit or a permit holder failing to comply with a permit. Responsible and/or liable parties will be billed for recoverable costs.
