Tender 21 keeps a portable water tank filled to supply multiple attack lines.
QFR Units responded to a Wildfire in the area of Penny Creek Rd and Lords Lake Loop Rd.
With help from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s drone, crews were able to locate a fire burning in the slash and spreading into the timber. QFR Firefighters quickly engaged the fire with help from Brinnon Fire Department, East Jefferson Fire Rescue, Discovery Bay Volunteer Fire Rescue, Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the US Forest Service. Fire crews were able to halt the spead of the fire using roadways, wetlines, a DNR bulldozer and helicopter.
The fire has been contained. Control of the fire has been turned over to the US Forest Service and the DNR. Ground crews from US Forest Service, DNR and Local Fire Departments will remain on scene over the coming days. Approximately 6 acres have been burned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
